Gender-trification

As I sit here at work this morning with nothing on my plate (shhhh) I came by this awesome article on Kotaku. The rundown of it is this, Lexi, a young girl who plays hockey on her Xbox was tired of nothing being able to play as a female character, which is 100% understandable. So she wrote a letter to EA and now, BANG, you can create your own female characters in NHL 2011. Pretty nice of EA, don't yah think? Even nicer? The default character model is based off Lexi. What a lucky duck.

Help me. Help them.

Saturday, October 15th I'm going to be pulling off a 24 hour session of marathon gaming.

Why? For a good cause, of course.

I'm partaking in Extra-Life, an annual event that raises money to help kids in Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. A friend of mine turned me onto it when they themselves put a shout out on Facebook for donations for their session. I thought to myself, I could donate but I'd rather play and raise money myself, so voila, here we are.

My goal is $300 and it'll be donated to the IWK Health Centre, right here in Halifax, NS. Obviously, I'd like to raise as much money as I can.

Lower the blast shield

Every so often I slip a nerdy headline through. This is one of those times.

Normalcy Restored

The Summer of Tees is over and that means this blog is back to being a soapbox of randomness for me. Usually I post about video games and junk that has to do with video games, so get ready to read...about video games!

Right now, I've got a problem but it's a problem I'm looking forward to solving. What's my problem? I've got too many games to play. That's right, I said too many. How so? Well, I just borrowed Dues Ex from my friend John, I'm replaying Gears of War 1&2 before the new one comes out in two weeks and I've got Spider Man: Shattered Dimensions and the new Castlevania game from GameAccess. Oh me, oh my, whatever shall I do? Well, I'm just going to buckle down, play copious amounts of games until my eyes bleed and then play some more. So if you're laying awake at night and wondering what I'm up to, it's playing video games. Oh, I've got my Brother's wedding and some work stuff also, but that's all secondary.

T-Shirt #94

I picked up my final shirt of the summer amongst the clothing racks at Strange Adventures. I've long been a believer in Mr. Newman's philosophy and while I don't read a lot of Mad Magazine nowadays, I used to pour through issues at the library in Clayton Park when I was a kid. So, that's that folks and in the words of another comic book legend, 'nuff said.

T-Shirt #93

That's right, we've got a Sports Hall of Fame. Sure, it's only one floor but it's actually pretty cool if you've never gone. Also to answer the inevitable question, no, I am not on the Kyber Clubbers softball team.I just own a shirt with their logo on it.

T-Shirt #92

Quite a punch in the face, my final Threadless tee certainly isn't subtle. While I own plenty of black and red shirts I only have a small collection of three orange ones. I assume that's due to their cringe inducing brightness.
